With the second trailer of the upcoming magnum opus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War, the internet is pretty much broken. Sending tremor waves across the Marvel and the overall Comic-Book fan-base, the hype for the movie has never been so intense. Amidst all the action, drama and humour, what exactly happened? Let’s break it down!
The trailer is ominous
Unlike any previous trailer released by Marvel, this one is grim, and smells of death. The trailer begins with a slowed down version of the original Avengers’ theme song, with the scene shifting towards a meteor coming down to the surface. The trailer has skipped most of the jokes, as this time, one liners won’t save the Avengers or The Guardians of The Galaxy.
The Black Order
In the first trailer, we got a glimpse of the infamous Black Order of The Mad Titan. In the recent trailer, the Black Order is in its full glory. As the scene focuses towards the spaceship, which had Thor, Loki, Bruce Banner and the remaining Asgardians on it after the events of Thor: Ragnarok, we can finally witness the wrath of the mighty Black Order. What seems like an exchange between Loki and the Black Order, sends the message loud and clear; they are not here to screw around.
In another scene, there is Doctor Strange getting pierced by numerous needles in the face. The camera reverts back to Ebony Maw, the master tactician with a black tongue that spreads mischief and evil everywhere he goes. In the comics, Ebony Maw has controlled Doctor Strange’s mind and forced him to become a double-agent. Whether that would happen in the movie or not, that time will tell.
The Fall of Wakanda
As the trailer comes to an end, we can see the combined forces of Steve Rogers, Black Panther, Bruce Banner in a Hulkbuster, War-Machine, Black Widow and the rest of the Wakandan army battling out Thanos and his extra-terrestrial army. The advanced technology of Wakanda doesn’t really stand much chance against the might of The Mad Titan and his humongous army. From toppling the mighty Hulkbuster to isolating Captain America, it seems Wakanda will fall in the Battle of Wakanda.
…The Mad Titan
The showstopper of the entire trailer. The big baddie of the movie, who has been pulling the strings all along this time. The trailer spends a substantial amount focusing on its main antagonist, Thanos. Straight from his arrival, to his personal army of the Black Order, to some backstory where he abducts Gamora from her homeland to train her and make her an assassin. The arrival of Thanos has been so intense, that the grim and the looming sense of death has become almost palpable.
