J Jayalalithaa, the CM of Tamil Nadu took her last breath at 11.30 PM, December 5th,2016, in Apollo hospital, Chennai due to cardiac arrest. She was admitted to the hospital after she complained of fever and dehydration and underlying co-morbidities. Her health remained critical throughout Monday as doctors tried to recover her from a cardiac arrest on sunday evening.
On 4th December,2016, AIIMS expert team had confirmed that she had completely recovered after over two months of hospitalisation and intensive care. Few hours later, the CM suffered a massive cardiac arrest. Even with every best possible effort made to sustain her revival, Jayalalithaa’s health didn’t respond well and she finally passed away in the night.
Jayalalithaa started her profession as an Actor and soon became a powerful politician. She was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the fourth time on 23 May, 2016. She was elected unanimously as the leader of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(ADMK) legislature party after winning the election held in may, 2016. Her achievements during her tenure included the relocation of assembly building back to Fort St. George, the food subsidization program by the state government under the name Amma Unavagam and the Tamizhaga arasu madikanini thittam scheme, under which free laptops were distributed to students of secondary schools and colleges.

Jayalalitha’s death. .Fondly known as Amma by her supporters, as the Chief Minister was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, people from across the state prayed for her recovery.The sudden demise of the Jayalalithaa has taken the entire country in shock. It was not just a death of an actor or politician but this was the death of an inspiring journey.
