Stan Lee has shot 4 cameos in one go. Apparently it’s not easy for 93 year old Stan Lee to travel for shoots and stay on set whole day for shoot. So The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director, James Gunn was behind the camera when Stan Lee shot all the cameos in one go. Baring a few movies, the superstar creator and writer has made a cameo on almost every Marvel flicks. Even the different studios have kept this tradition in their Marvel movies.
“It’s a big deal for a 93-year-old man to go to a movie set and spend a day shooting,” Derrickson explained after a special screening of Doctor Strange. “James shot four cameos with Stan in one day,” Derrickson said. Derrickson said he didn’t actually meet Lee until the premiere of Doctor Strange, but the comic book legend did lend the film his stamp of approval beforehand. “I talked to him on the phone, and he grilled me pretty well,” Derrickson said. “By the end of the conversation, he was very happy.”
By the looks of it, Stanlee has completed the cameos for all Phase 3 movies of Marvel. We will be seeing Stan on Doctor Strange next, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Ton Holland’s Spiderman.
Doctor Strange is out Nov. 4, and will be followed on the Marvel schedule by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok next year.
