Those who are familiar with the comic book scene, know about the acclaimed run of Joe Hill’s horror comic ‘Locke & Key.’ And fans would be rejoiced to hear that Locke & Key is finally making its way to television. And not only that, the adaptation will be directed by none other than Scott Derrickson, the director of Doctor Strange with Lost and Bates Motel producer Carlton Cuse as a showrunner.
There is a chance you might not have heard of Joe Hill, but only if you have been underground this all time would you not have heard of his father Stephen King. That’s right Joe Hill comes from King’s family but he is the novelist in his own right. Heart-Shaped Box, Horns, NOS4A2 and The Fireman being the novels he is famous for. He has only penned one comic book series in the form of Locke and Key so far and it has gone to become one the most prominent comic book series of the publisher IDW. No wonder it is being adapted into Hulu Tv series.
Exploring the horror, supernature genre, Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them. Home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.
It should also be noted that Hulu has just ordered the pilot and is yet to pick up the whole series. Previously, two attempts have already been made to turn it into TV/movie series by Fox and Universal Studio, which didn’t go anywhere. Let’s hope the pilot is well received and Hulu picks up the whole series.
