We’ve all seen some amazing smartphones in 2016, from budget smartphones with long battery life to high-end flagships with dual camera setups. The year 2017 will be even more interesting considering the recent Qualcomm entrant Snapdragon 835, which gives both high-end performances as well as the long battery life we all wished for in the flagships… Here are some of the devices that are worth waiting for,
1. Samsung s8 and s8 plus
Both the phones now come with the edge display as a standard. S8 sports a 5.1-inch display likely to be a Quad HD or an Ultra HD while S8 plus sports a 5.5inch display. It comes with a high-end Snapdragon 835 chipset and Exynos 8895 for the Indian variant.It’ll run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with Samsung’s new OS on top. The ram and internal memory combination will be either 6GB/256GB or 4GB/128GB. The camera is upgraded to 12mp Dual-pixel technology with PDAF (Phase Detection & Auto Focus) and Dual tone LED flash. The front 8mp snapper is constant. The front now sports a capacitive fingerprint sensor with double as the home button.

2. iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 plus
Apple celebrating the 10 year anniversary has put in a lot of sophistication in this device. This year we bezel-less display, and also it’s powered by most powerful chip yet, the A11. Touch ID is integrated into the display and there might not be any haptic touch feedback like in the 7. Dual camera setup might come standard in both 8 and 8 plus. It’ll be water and dust resistant, and still there is no headphone jack. It might even come with wireless charging technology this time. Also there are speculations that the high end iPhone 8 plus will be the costliest iPhone ever costing over $ 1000

3. Oneplus 4
The beast in the 20-30k price segment remains undefeated till date i.e Oneplus 3/3t. Oneplus has a reputation of giving high end hardware for half the flagship’s price. Looks like it’ll withhold the same with the next iteration too. Oneplus 4 will be sporting a 5.5 inch 2k display along with Snapdragon 830/835 chipset. The ram and internal memory combination can be 6GB/64GB or 8GB/128GB. Will come with Oxygen 4.0 with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It’ll likely have water and dust resistance considering the recent trend. The rear came is a 21mp shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and front 16mp shooter. The battery will upgrade to 4000mAh with Quick Charge 4.0 which will charge the device from 0-100 in under and hour.

4. Nokia 3, 5, & 6
The dad of the phones is back. Back from the dead, revived by the HMD Global, Nokia made it’s comeback in China by launching Nokia 6 which has a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS LCD display, with a pixel density of 400ppi. The home button is not back lit and is a capacitive key that doubles as a fingerprint scanner which was pretty fast and responsive. The rear camera is a 16mp shooter with dual tone dual led flash and a front 8mp shooter. Powered by the entry level Snapdragon 430 chip, it also supports dual sim with hybrid sim slot. Ram and internal memory combination is 4GB/64GB. It has 3000mAh battery. It runs on Android 7.0 with Nokia’s own custom UI on top built on Cyanogen 14. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are lower clocked version of the 6 having 2gb ram and 16gb on board storage and are expected to launch at MWC this year.

5. Turing Monolith Chaconne
We saved the best for the last, The Turing Monolith Chaconne. This is one radical device which has a crazy set of features and hardware.
It sports a 6.4inch display with 4k resolution. It has three Snapdragon 830 chips totalling to 24 Kryo cores. The rear camera is a 60mp shooter with an 6k resolution and the front is a dual 20mp shooter. It has a massive 18GB ram and 1.2TB on board storage. It runs on their custom OS called Swordfish OS with a deep learning AI. It supports speeds upto 1GBPS. The body is made up of high temperature alloy components with a Graphene Oxide body and a Liquid Metal 2.0 Structural Frame. It has three battery sources which are, a 3600mAh Graphene supercapacitor, a 2400mAh Li-Ion, and a freaking Hydrogen Fuel cell.
Although it’ll cost a fortune and can only be bought by those rich lads, it’s an interesting device.
