Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief Review
Rick Riordan has done a splendid job at making the characters engrossing and giving them interesting back stories. All the characters in the book play an essential part in the story line. The author portrays Percy as a child suffering from ADHD and dyslexia, thus making the main character quite reasonable.
The supporting character like Percy’s friends Annabeth and Grover are not sidelined throughout the story. Percy’s mother, Sally Jackson, does not remain throughout the book but plays a significant role in the story.
The writing style is aimed mostly for young adults but can be interesting for mature readers alike for its engaging plot and enchanting fictional world. The humor and the thrills are very well balanced and will keep the readers wanting more. A point worth mentioning is the quippy names of the chapter which will always make you chuckle.
P.S. : The book was adapted as a live action movie but I would sincerely request everyone to ignore that piece of crap.
