As if Gru with his minions was not nefarious enough already, he finds out that he has a criminal twin brother! A new Despicable Me 3 trailer was released by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment. The new trailer gives us a lot of details about the plot of the upcoming sequel and is quite funny.

The last time we saw the gang in action was back in 2013. We are seriously hoping the 3rd chapter in the Despicable Me Series would be worth the wait; after all, the creators also have to compensate for the blatant rubbish they served to the fans of the series with the Minions spin-off.

In the brand new Despicable Me 3 trailer, we get to see what’s going on with Gru and his family (including the minions). Gru has been living a happy life with his wife Lucy (voiced by Kristen Wiig) fighting crimes and working with the Anti-Villain League but it all changes when Gru fails to fend off a heist by Balthazar Bratt, a supervillain and former child star who grows up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ’80s and is bent on world domination. Gru gets thrown out of the Anti-Villain League and has no job but to his surprise, he finds out that he has a twin brother Dru (also voiced by Steve Carrel) who’s also a villain and wants to continue their family legacy of crime with his brother.

The trailer also shows us what’s going with the fan-favourite characters, the minions, as they start revolting in dismay as their former villain boss is now on the path of becoming good. It looks like a lot of mayhem and fun is going to ensue in Gru’s life.

What did you think of the new Despicable me 3 trailer? Will it be another hit or would be a mess like the Minions spin-off?
