Jessie J released her new song “Not my Ex”.  And it’s not really sad or depressing. More like, she is providing you emotional support. The visual of the song is just classic black and white. She is singing through the visuals. You might even remember your memories of your loved one or maybe your own crush. This song is filled with strong emotions where you might have to question your own self-worth. Because some songs just bring out the worst of yourself. It’s beautiful.

And it starts with these lyrics-

My ex used to tell me I’m flawless
While laying low with all the girls
Believed him when he said he was honest
Then blame myself when I got hurt
My ex used to tell me I’m selfish
But never did he put me first
Ignore me and he do it on purpose
Just to have the last word

So basically, she meant you will always fail to understand yourself when you are with the wrong kind. This is the honest truth which almost everyone faces.

With this song, Jessie J  introduces her concept of new album R.O.S.E. Expanded as Realisations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment.  It’s not your one of those pop songs which you usually see her singing. Moreover, she just wants to show her inner sermons which she is trying to express her own self.  R.O.S.E is not a pop album. It’s R&B.

The album seems like a voice which we always to try to find in our own selves. Deemed into the world of running away from responsibilities, hurt by rejections and scared to face  – these are our current phases during our twenties. As an Essex girl, Jessie J is trying to providing her best vocals in this album. This album is going to be released in November 2017.

Meanwhile, you can tune into her video where she describes her album’s concept.
